These resources are not just videos or names and numbers; they are steps to success or keys to open up locked doors. Sometimes it is wise not share some information, while other times it may be beneficial to your team. You will need to use judgment on when to share and when to hold the cards. Are there benefits to sharing sacred resources?

The benefits of sharing MLM resources include increased traffic, generating conversions, establishing a brand, training techniques, developing new methods and reaching out to more prospects. The downfalls are numerous and can be harmful to your business operations. Some of them are not valid in all circumstances but could include stealing of members, corrupted file systems, stealing of business data and used on other websites. Your experience and knowledge will be your guide, when you decide to pool resources. You can limit what types of information is shared with other networks and companies and protect your data from their use.

Enough of the negative issues, time to focus on the benefits of sharing some of your MLM resources. There are times when you should share resources with other companies, this happens when your company and the other company teams up in a friendly competition. Each company may provide access to locations, marketing ideas, combine resources for events and much more. The primary purposes of these events are to inspire and to strengthen the downlines within each company and to increase sale conversions. When everyone makes money, they all win! The goal of the competition may vary on the agreed terms by the directors.

Whatever the terms or goals are, you can share limited MLM resources to the other group. Restriction to resources can be done in a variety of ways, the primary lock outs are mainly for electronic devices and shared data on the internet. Traditional methods include returning of all paper based material to the director. In this digital aid, new methods can limit access by members through a time lock, password change or restriction by hardware access. Some of these techniques are becoming user friendly. Back in the late 80’s to early 00’s most security changes had to be performed by an IT specialist; some of today’s software may need to be changed by an IT specialist but this trend is slowly fading away.

Other methods to limit electronic access are to share one file or folder at a time with the network. These links can die within 24, 48, or 72 hours or customized to expire by the sender. You should set the expiration time before sending the link or it will expire accordingly to its default setting. The other options include disabling a username from the white list; this would ban their account from accessing any data on the website or other platform.

Some information should be restricted, while some can be easily shared without problems. Personal data of any sort should not be shared at all, unless written permission from the person is granted. Personal information includes name, email address, credit card information, home address, phone number, PayPal or any other data that is deemed personal. You should share training videos, training materials, and marketing flyers for the big event, website urls, blog urls and other public information.
